A golden rose was just what I needed today, the day after surgery to my gut. Four incisions healing nicely. Lavender’s beautiful words, especially “a sniff of summer apricot tart” made this sublime. Hope you like it, too. Have a magical day.

Fothergilla Geese

flightless white geese

Note: These blooms are dwarf Fothergilla, cousin to Witch Hazel. Fothergilla gardenii were discovered here by Alexander Garden (1730-1791) a Scottish physician and naturalist who introduced them to England. What a great name he had for his profession.
