Hope is Green

Copyright 2025 Brenda Davis HarshamNotes: Spring can’t be long despite today’s winter sampling of hail, snow, sleet and freezing rain. Bluejays darted in the trees, and the bulbs rose, undaunted and unmoved. May you rise to Spring with as much constancy.

Bonus: here’s a taste of Spring from another poet:

“and suddenly, from out of nowhere, whirls the pear-bloom, upon us, and apple- and almond- and apricot- and quince-blossom, storms and cumulus clouds of all imaginable blossom about our bewildered faces”

— from Craving for Spring by D.H. Lawrence
