Rain over Mount Greylock

the first drop falls

Notes: Sometimes storms spit and spatter for a long time, giving you plenty of time to find shelter. This storm sent the first drop and immediately followed it with a waterfall of wet. For me, this picture shares the ominous feeling dark clouds bring. After a summer of drought, the deluge was welcome. Mt Greylock is the highest peak in Massachusetts, part of the Berkshires mountains which join the much larger Appalachian mountain range that stretches from Georgia to Maine. The Appalachian trail is 2190 miles of rugged climbing and open spaces. The storms can be intense.

Happy Halloween! I hope you stay warm, dry and safe.
