Lavender Song

scent of lavender
bites and clings,
sings

Copyright 2021 Brenda Davis Harsham

Notes:

May your day be magical and full of scents and sunshine.

The poem was inspired by my July visit to the Cornell Botanical Gardens in Ithaca, NY. Remembering July, before the Delta variant took over conversation. A few words from another poet:

…the future is a faded song, a Royal Rose or a lavender spray
Of wistful regret for those who are not yet here to regret,
Pressed between yellow leaves of a book that has never been opened. — TS Eliot
