Poem for Peace

IMG_2529

On the edge of a knife,
words sustain my life,
address
my stress
and lessen household strife.

Notes: This form of poem is a limerick. As social distance, scary headlines, and strangers wearing masks trigger stress and anger in people around us, sustaining peace is even more important. The rules of civility need cultivation. Be gentle, be kind, be safe.

    • Thanks, Beth. You, too. I scheduled this before the George Floyd protests. Then the post published, and I could see that it might be taken to mean I disapprove of the protests, which I don’t. The looting and buildings being burned down are upsetting, though.

  1. Thanks for sharing, Brenda
My contribution is a quote from John Lennon:
“PEACE IS NOT SOMETHING YOU WISH FOR; IT’S SOMETHING YOU MAKE, SOMETHING YOU DO , SOMETHING YOU ARE, AND SOMETHING YOU GIVE AWAY.”
    All the best,
    Hanna
