A Daughter’s Smile

Notes: My boys might be jealous, but here is a love note to my youngest, our little sunshine. If we have spirit flowers, not just spirit animals, then my daughter’s would surely be the yellow dahlia. A fitting topic for the Winter Solstice. What would your spirit flower be and why?

Happy Poetry Friday! Thanks to Buffy Silverman, a wonderful nature poet, for hosting!

  1. How special your poem is, and goes so well with the gorgeous yellow dahlia, I thinkโ€ฆ I used to call my daughter my sunflower and still do sometimesโ€“that’s what she reminds me of. My spirit flower is a toss up between a sunflower and the flower from a milkweed plant, which is oh so sweet. Happy Holidays to you and your family Brenda!
