Photograph Used With Permission of Resa McConaghy
Like cicadas at summer’s end,
a fairy queen’s shell lingers, iridescent, glowing,
with traces of sleeping magic.
A wizard king can wake the dreamer
if he believes
in her magic, if he sees into her heart,
if he carries his power
lightly, gently, and with deepest respect
for the fragility of hers.

Notes: Dedicated to Resa McConaghy, the artist and creator of Art Gown La Esencia de Titania, and to all the fairy queens and wizard kings who bring magic to life every day.
Day 15 of NaNoWriMo: still on track. My new story is sparking with magic and brimming with villains. Have a magical week!

This poem by Brenda Davis Harsham makes me think of The Lord of the Rings and the beauty of the Elven kingdoms. Magical and awe-inspiring!

Happy Thanksgiving to Brenda & all of my American friends here on WordPress! Friendly Fairy Tales inspired “La Esencia de Titania”, and she in turn has inspired “Sleeping Magic”.
It’s a wonderful thing!

A Resa gown captures our mind and sends our souls soaring to mystical, wonderful worlds. We need, oh we so need this.

Yes, we need art, magic and symbolism to make sense of this confusing world.
