Echinacea seedpods,
Ruffled and out of sorts,
With your cat faces,
Squashed by snowy caps.
Snow is still thin,
Yet will come thicker soon.
Eventually you will win,
Another spring will come.
Your roots will labor and birth a
New crop of seed pods,
Born to wear snowy crowns.
So the seasons go around.

Those… flowers? Plants? They are cool with the snow on them. 🙂

They are the seed-heads from summer echinacea (coneflowers). I don’t always prune them away before spring. I kind of like the texture of them with snow. 🙂 The birds also like the seeds.

Well, how cool is that. I’ve bought them as dried flowers but I never saw where they grew and never in the snow. 🙂

They would be beautiful if brought in, but then the birds would lose out. 🙂

So far, not much snow. Yeah!! I need to get out and walk more. I’ve been sick, and I’m going stir crazy.

I’m enjoying but not feeling well. It happens. Perhaps this means I won’t be sick at Christmas. That’s worse somehow.

Maybe I’ll feel warmer if I pretend these are emerging from winter and the snow that was covering them has mostly melted away. No, that isn’t working. Great photo.

Are you back in India? I imagine a cold mist in India would smell of spices and intwine with the whispers of the many gods.

Hihihihi 🙂 Yes, I am back in India, the cold mist is actually quite crisp and wet, it is good, it cleans the air, and makes me feel Chritsmassy 🙂 🙂 I won’t be able to go back to norway this year, my family is travelling, so it will have to be an Indian Christmas 🙂 That is okay, I have a tiny tree, not a real one of course 🙂

I am learning to play Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairies on the piano. My son knows it already, and I hope to play with him. We will all be playing carols this year. Such fun. We love decorating the tree and the whole silly season. 🙂
