Two things… my gifted scrub pines by the birds or squirrels (opposite sides of the yard).
Siblings no matter how far apart, will always share roots.
I think I bend the rules of haiku, tanka and renga more than follow them. Seems January is going to be a tanka month for me 🙂
Still about two hours before I travel.

It’s a very zen process for me, letting the subject matter lead me to another place in the last two lines. Sort of like swimming, stroke, stroke, breathe, dive deep.
