Hello and welcome to the virtual home of Brenda Davis Harsham, award-winning Author and Children’s poet.
Together with her fantastic husband and three story-telling children, she enjoys the unpredictability of life in New England.
Her ever-growing Publications page keeps track of where her stories and poetry may be found in the wild — anthologies and journals and magazines, oh my!
Occasionally, her busy schedule allows time for school or club visits. Puppets shows with audience participation are her specialty. But don’t ask her to read her poetry! She loves that WAY too much. Craft of Writing workshops are available, one-day or longer as negotiated.
Her fine art photography is available for purchase on the Society6 website, including an Abstracts in Nature series.
She is not soliciting manuscripts from children at this time, but a few are available in the By&4Kids group by clicking here.

Thanks for stopping by. I lived in North Carolina for a few years. That was a beautiful area. I wish I had more photos from back then. Chimney Rock park in March was glorious. Hillsides of blooming rhododendron that reminded me of the Lilac Festival.

Aren’t there so many great places to visit Brenda. Its great seeing through others eyes the places we’ve been too or not been too (yet) to fuel dreams.

So true. And it’s the people you visit, too. Or maybe we are just dreamers. 🙂

Maybe its a combination of the two. But you are right, the people and their stories are so interesting. Its amazing how we can all look at the same giraffe and each walk away with something unique and wonderful to talk about.

Hello Dear,
You have a beautiful blog here. I loved your theme. Great content and the colours are easy on the eyes.I was intrigued to read it and was wondering if you and I could be collaborators. I am a new blogger and started my humble blog some three months ago and had almost 3,300 followers. I believe blogging community is the most supportive and encouraging community. I want some writers as well. I kept unwell and was looking for someone who would like to post on my blog too. I would be highly obliged if you take a look at my blog and allow me an opportunity to collaborate with you. I love to write and write for some Ezines and Webzines like Roberta Pimentel and The Millionaire’s Digest. I write poetry, free articles, short stories and all other things. I can write content you want and word limit can be followed too.
😊🌹🙏❄️
Warm Regards

I write all my own content, but I occasionally reblog something that fits with my theme. I collaborate with illustrators sometimes. I’m unclear what you are asking me. Are you wanting me to publish something of yours or are you wanting me to write for you?

Hi Brenda,
I’ve always enjoyed reading your friendly fairy tales; you come across as creative and your images are lovely.
I have nominated you for the Versatile Blogger Award. Here’s the link: https://comeinsitdown.wordpress.com/2016/10/21/versatile-blogger-award/
Your participation is totally voluntary, you don’t have to accept the nomination. Should you decide not to take part, I will completely understand that and won’t be offended.
I however will appreciate it if you chose to accept it; I see the nomination process as a way to promote my fellow bloggers work across the board and to spread the word.
Thank you and best wishes,
Anna

Hi Brenda! I just wanted to let you know that I posted a link to your site on my writing resources page of my new site (www.mymindclutter.com). I wanted to send you a personal e-mail so it didn’t seem like I was shamelessly plugging myself here, but I didn’t see a contact page. Anyway, my site is just getting up and running, but I’ve been following yours for quite some time and found it so intriguing and informative that I wanted to add your link. I hope you don’t mind! Keep up the great work!

I couldn’t find the right page, but I visited another of your resources pages. Thanks for this nice compliment. I’m glad you are coming back to writing. I had a long hiatus in fiction/poetry writing, although I’ve always used my writing skills. I’m excited lately to be finding places to publish poetry. I’m still working on picture books, middle grade and YA books, too, because I can never take a simple approach. LOL

I’m sorry, perhaps I posted the wrong link! Here is the direct link if you’re interested in checking it out. http://www.mymindclutter.com/writing-resources/ — I have two sites and the one linked to my profile here is a different site centered around grief and loss. My writing site is independent of WP.com. Sorry for the confusion! Anyway, I understand not taking the simple approach. I’m pretty good at that myself, haha. There’s definitely more places for poetry than there used to be! Best of luck!

Nice job! I checked it out but didn’t see a way to comment. I am glad I got more organized. It helps me submit things. Good luck to you, too. Grief is tough. We all have to figure out how to live with it, sooner or later.

Hi Brenda, I love the whole idea of this whimsical world and philosophy of the lost art of story telling. Although I think of myself as somewhat creative, I could never quite master making up stories at bedtime for my sons other then one about an amiable sasquatch that lived on our property and kidnapped our elderly neighbor for a day due to loneliness. They loved that story. I have always enjoyed reading and am trying to pull back my two teenage sons into sharing this love but sadly have a fierce struggle competing with the ubiquitous iphone and ipad of today’s world. They are required to read a great deal in school but do not partake in their spare time, something I strive to change. I loved the movie “Fairy Tale, A True Story” and also enjoy the works of Cicely Mary Barker and her beautiful etching of flower fairies. I have a little store I frequent in the area (I live in CT) that sells Irish/English goods and found a lovely little book of postcards of her work. I love to send these post card to special friends with a little note penned. I too cherish to the lost art of letter writing. I love your site! Have great day.

Sorry, sleepy. Words coming too slow tonight. I wish WP still linked your comment with the post it’s associated with, but it doesn’t. As for why, I like your banter, your rhyming and your way with words. Was it a limerick, too? I think it was if my memory serves. And I like limericks. XOXO
LikeLike
Slight difference…I classify nearly anything in limerick form and more than one stanza as a limerick poem. One stanza in limerick form—a limerick. But when its meter is out of whack and lines are too long…it becomes a one stanza limericck poem. yeah…we who sit in the cheap seats get little respect—just more changes! I’m glad that my banter (as you say) and way with phrasing and rhyme is pleasing.I enjoy writing in the limerick form Thank you for answering! xoxo-oo!
