light shifts in the trees,
fallen leaves tumble and turn,
going with the flow
beached downstream for a moment
before another wind comes

Notes: I’ve been feeling like a leaf in a high wind for weeks now, but I have good news. We found a new house, and we’ve moved, lock, stock, mops, buckets, garden arches, several gnomes and more. We’re feeling a bit bedazzled, befuddled and bamboozled at the scope and pace, but we’re happier day by day in our new space. (Still too many boxes.) Also in Florida last week on business, I was caught in the Hurricane Idalia evacuation (after arriving in Tampa one hour before). I’m in awe of the stalwart Floridians, smiling in the face of dire predictions and taking hurricanes in stride.
Thanks to everyone for your good wishes and support during my family’s summer of change. I hope you’re all well and finding magic in the small things, like the resilience of people and the movement of leaves in a stream.
Wow Brenda. Spectacular and awesome blog post. Firstly, I am happy for you that your finally moved to a new house and it is stocked, loaded and ready to be stayed on. Lastly, nice poem there about the leaves that turn and tumble going with the flow🙏

Ahh, where are you living now?
Sounds like happiness there! Boxes will all be empty and gone soon.
Are the kids still all at home?
How long has it been since I visited?
Well, anyway, I love your photos and your Haikus.
It’s always a pleasure to visit here.
Be well, and enjoy your new home!!!! 🦋🦋🦋🦋🦋

Thank you! I’m a bit farther west and closer to my dad, but still in the vicinity of Boston. Kids either home or home often.

Yay! for your new nest and glad you made it through Florida for a lot of reasons. LOL One box at a time and then they’ll be gone.

Very true! If only we didn’t own so many books!

Oh, no! More books mean more dreams and stories. Never enough books. LOL At least not for me. They are heavy to move, however.

Brenda—so glad you weren’t blown away with the storm, like those leaves! ❤ I can feel the swaying movement of tree branches in the breeze, as your poem suggests….! Maybe I'll stay up a while…! 😀
