hidden underfoot
in winter’s withered debris,
one perfect bloom
Copyright 2021 Brenda Davis Harsham
Notes: Spring is sprung and the blooming begun, snowdrops, crocuses, daffodils, cherry blossoms, and even the azaleas are ready for their yearly show. Is it early? It feels early, but the trees don’t care, they are ready to turn the world green. After a long winter of seeing only white, brown and gray, purple pops. Hurray for color!

The first flower to bloom after a winter of ice and snow, it can’t help but move us to poetry.

You’re so lucky someone has planted crocuses. I wonder what other surprises await.

The guy who owned this house before was a horticulturist apparently and he planted all kinds of crazy things around here. It’s been like a slate of spring surprises! 🙂 🙂

That is awesome! Makes it hard to recognize the weeds, though. 🙂

“Wonderful things come in small packages.” So I was told and I told my children as we looked at the wrapped gifts under the Christmas tree.
