First Dusting

The low, white sky
yields
a first dusting of
snow
and leaves tremble.

Notes: Snow fell for two days, and the schools closed for one. I celebrated the storm with photography. Kids celebrated with hot cocoa and sledding, yelling “Eeeee!” I made my poem in the shape of an “E” unconsciously, but thought it was perfect when I noticed. Did you celebrate something this week?

  1. Beautiful poem and photo. We celebrated the sunny weather by taking a road trip to a conservation area just north of the city. Fantastic day. Very few people on the trail and I momentarily forgot that we’re in the middle of a pandemic.
