Thankful for family,
the four who stay with me
despite this year of separations.
For each recipe,
sweet and savory words
that bring heat and spice.
For maple tree,
russet leaves of three
lighten and loosen my soul.

Notes: Taking a moment to remember joy. It’s nearly Thanksgiving, and I’m salivating over free recipes on the internet. I’ve decided to try new spice combinations. Please feel free to contribute any new recipes you’ve liked or even some gratitude or attitude. I hope a little magic finds you and that you have time to notice and remember.

Happy Thanksgiving, my friend. Finding new recipes has been a lock down past time for me, too. Wishing you health and hearth and home this Thanksgiving — and every day.

A profound and life-affirming poem. Canadians celebrates Thanksgiving in October so that we can celebrate another Thanksgiving with you in November. Grateful that we have connected.
