Winter’s white sleeves
and icy tresses
are absent
this warm winter.
Unexpectedly,
I miss them.

Notes: Today was a balmy 63 degrees Fahrenheit. Tomorrow will be cold again, but it’s been an odd winter without much snow. This photo is from a year or two ago. Funny to be missing snow, when I was wishing for spring in December. I imagine the midwest thinks it’s been cold enough.

I love that photo, Brenda, and how you’ve dressed your trees in winter with your lovely word choices (tresses, sleeves, etc). Our winter has been all over the place. It was 58˚F on the playground yesterday afternoon and we’re due to have a high around freezing today. The poor plants must be so confused!

I imagine some plants thought it was March yesterday. Some will sprout. But no. Surprise! It’s early February.

Perhaps the snow is yet to come. 🙂

My children hope so. They want a snow day. 🙂

It’s not a real winter until you have a snow day! 🙂
