atrium of ice
over a grassy kingdom
until rain comes
Copyright 2018 Brenda Davis Harsham
Notes: Water has a way about it. So many shapes it takes. This photo I took yesterday reveals the way the snow and freezing rain had formed a lacy layer over the brown grass. I imagine that the darker world below was teeming with earthworms, beetles and snails dining on dandelions and sprouting seeds. Today, the icy atrium is gone, taken by new rain. The brown grass keeps its secrets.
Fab shot pouring your graceful words!

Lovely! That’s how most humans are too. A calm exterior and you may not know what goes underneath !

Thanks for sharing your words and oh-so-intriguing picture, too – poetry takes many shapes as well, no? Sending WARM wishes from the Southern coast….:0)

So true, water is a great metaphor for poetry. WARM is sounding pretty good right now.

You can almost look for shapes in it, like we do with clouds. I think I see a horse… 🙂

I am fascinated by the many shapes water can take it freezes. Your photo is a good example for this phenomenon.

It was so fragile, but so pretty, too. I’ve seen so many gorgeous pictures of ice. And snowflakes.

I really like this picture; I spent some time zooming in and around to fully appreciate the details, and your reflective words lingered. Thanks for capturing it; I rather miss the beauty that can be found in snowy and icy landscapes.

Thanks! My appreciation of winter posts are a bit limited this year. But I have a few. I could get used to not having to shovel. 🙂

I am most grateful to be blessed with your good opinion, but I have stopped taking awards. Too busy, too many irons in the fire. 🙂 I will stop by and say hello, though.
