green-caped male
catches a sweet ride,
heroic

Notes: Meet the slant-faced, short-horned,ย short-winged green grasshoppers (Dichromorphic viridis) that toured New England this summer. In tandem. My daughter found them for me, describing them as a daughter piggy-backing on her mom. I didn’t correct her. She’s eight.
This was tactful and good to not be too specific when no questions were asked. . . Now, Felicia, aged six, wanted to know why male bunny was hopping onto female bunny. Alas, 4H ๐ and honest approach since she asked she got a short, bunny sex ed lesson! ๐๐

Farm kids always know far more than city kids about things. ๐

Your daughter is right! I know nothing about grasshoppers, but I’d say that looks like a mom and daughter! xo

Love this and a mom would definitely carry her daughter. She’s spot on with that one:)

I thought she had a great world view. I don’t want to mess with it.

You always take such lovely photos of nature. I hardly stop to see insects or anything as always caught up with things. Through your lens, I get a chance. Thank you so muchโบ

Thanks! I get lucky sometimes, when they keep very still.
