Note: Here is a seasonal haiku for you. Happy Poetry Friday. Thanks to Laura Purdie Salas at Writing the World for Kids for hosting the poetry party. Stop by for more beautiful poetry. Laura is a Poetry Princess, and today her group of seven are writing in the terza rima poetry form.
I’m back from my trip out west and making a late visit. Lovely haiku and photo pairing. The earthtones make their own rich palette.

Painting earth tones and sending out a keening sound of sorrow that this land of the free got a little darker and sadder last night, early morning.
Our country’s made so many mistakes and I feel this will take quite some time until we get over the insanity. I won’t “ever” refer to him as President, nope! He’s Trump and that is all I can say. . . I read your moping around comment, sense your worried state of mind and am commiserating, dear and special friend. ❤

I hate that the world celebrates “machismo” and takes kindness and service for granted. And I rarely use that word hate, because it’s such a trigger. I watched a weepy Asian film. I’ve never seen so many people crying. It seemed to help.

I try not to uses the word “hate,” also. . . Hope and Love have the same # of letters. Let’s just use them and conquer the other one. . .hugs xo

Hugs, too! Four letters and starts with an H… I like your attitude. 🙂

I was thinking about ferns just this morning, in my bathroom, and I realize that I have never realized that ferns too change colors. Lovely palette, singing words.

The woods in October are full of surprises. The ferns looked surreal with the light glowing through them. I’m glad the picture conveys a taste of what they were like in real life.

Thanks, Laura. I was trying for a simple beauty to my poem, like the ferns have themselves.

Thanks, Jonathan! It’s not a limerick, though!

A limerick is 5 lines with an AABBA rhyme scheme…and can be sung to “Popeye the Sailor Man”!

Brenda, this imagepoem paints a colorful picture of autumn. It should be offered for Autumnventure Gallery. Would you like to merge the poem and photo and send it to me? Wonderful!

Thanks, Carol. I could try… 🙂

I agree….I was thinking that the haiku would be so beautiful merged with the photograph! And, Linda B. is right….an autumn poetry collection with (as Carol does) or without would be such a fun thing to see from Poetry Friday regulars.

Haiku are the perfect length for merging with a photo. I’m glad you like it. *Spoiler alert* I did send a merged version to Carol. 🙂

I used Canva, and it is AWESOME! I couldn’t get Pic Monkey to work because of some some war my computer is having with Flash. I need help figuring out the link-up, though. I’m hosting in a few weeks, and I’ve never used a link-up.
