Meeting McDoodle

IMG_2241

Doodly
doodly
doodly doo.

An eye
in the sky
and a cloud or two.

A mountain
garbed in
trees and a stream.

Elephants and
butterflies
dance in a dream.

A border,
a banner,
a motto, a pheasant.

A motto?
Yes, I should
always be present.

Note: Have you ever doodled your way through a meeting? Here, I use the William Carlos Williams form, Triversen, which is three phrases per sentence, and six sentences each having its own stanza. Like doodling, my sentences are fragmented, wandering and rule-breaking. This was inspired by Poetry for Kids Joy and Robert Lee Brewer, Senior Content Editor of Writer’s Digest.
