Snow Flowers

Yellow Daffodil in snow

Snow showers
bury
spring flowers
deep
in icy cold
flakes.
Petals fold
droop,
shiver and shake
to wake
in winter heartbreak.

Note: The daffodils and I believed the last flake had flown, but the snow forecast wasn’t an April Fool’s joke after all. Happy National Poetry Month!

  1. Wow wow wow I love this. Poor chilly daffodils. I hope they are happy and warm now by the sun. I love the contrast of snow and flowers in this photo and your words always delight and make me smile! 🙂 Happy Monday! xoxo
