In a Wonderland they lie,
Dreaming as the days go by,
Dreaming as the summers die:
Ever drifting down the stream-
Lingering in the golden gleam-
Life, what is it but a dream?
Alice frosts pink fairy cakes
And carries them on amber platters
To the party in the tippy-top of yews.
Icing sparkles with snowflakes:
Tea party treats for mad hatters.
Alice pours tea and lets guests choose.
The Red Queen chases drakes.
Feathers fall amid snowy spatters.
The Cheshire Cat grins and chews.
White Rabbit calls “Land sakes!”
The March Hare nods and natters.
Not a few party guests snooze.

Note: In addition to getting the holidays in hand, I have a new project. I am now offering Fine Nature Art prints for sale on Society 6. Your purchase would help support Friendly Fairy Tales.
Have a magical weekend!
Warmly, Brenda
I hope you have a good weekend, too!

I got a stomach bug, unfortunately, and I’ve been sicker than sick. But the fever broke, and the world has stopped spinning. Hope you were better off than me! 🙂

What you did with the inspiration from Carroll’s quotes, making a lovely story involving the season and characters is truly unbelievable. Excellent word paintings, especially the “tippy top of yews” and the phrasing which begins with “feathers fall…” You are magical, Brenda!

Wonderful poems Brenda, as I’m someone who refers to himself as a Cheshire Cat, this poem is right up my alley! 😉

Love the picture. We are supposed to get some snow on Sunday or Monday. Not supposed to accumulate, but we’ll see. They have been wrong before. Love the poems too. 🙂
