Hello and welcome to the virtual home of Brenda Davis Harsham, award-winning Author and Children’s poet.

Together with her fantastic husband and three story-telling children, she enjoys the unpredictability of life in New England.

Her ever-growing Publications page keeps track of where her stories and poetry may be found in the wild — anthologies and journals and magazines, oh my!

Art Prints are Available at Society6

Occasionally, her busy schedule allows time for school or club visits. Puppets shows with audience participation are her specialty. But don’t ask her to read her poetry! She loves that WAY too much. Craft of Writing workshops are available, one-day or longer as negotiated.

Her fine art photography is available for purchase on the Society6 website, including an Abstracts in Nature series.

She is not soliciting manuscripts from children at this time, but a few are available in the By&4Kids group by clicking here.

    • Thanks, I feel pretty lucky to have three story-telling kids. I was not encouraged to tell stories as a kid, and it took me a long time to come back to it. I’m excited where they might go with encouragement. 🙂 Thanks for sharing your writing with the world. 🙂

  10. Brenda, I thank you so much for liking one of my haiku on my “Randa Lane…” haiku blog. I’ve just read some of your poetry and couldn’t wait to follow you! Such refreshing and charming poetry. If you choose to follow me, that would be wonderful. If not, I’ll be satisfied if you just visit occasionally. 🙂 I hope you can tell that I am a serious haiku poet with over 600 of my haiku posted on WordPress and adding more every day.   14. Sorry, I didn’t want to comment this on my blog…

    Some awful human being sent me a dirty message about my ‘tits’ and seeing the rest of me etc, etc. I decided to just ignore and delete the message. Obviously this was the wrong thing to do as I then had a ping back comment which meant he had linked my blog. So I have a look and he posted a blog calling me a whore and his proof was two pictures of me where my cleavage was exposed (he went through my back catalogue on Instagram to find another) and he paired it with a picture I posted of my first cucumber from this years crop, making a very sexual insinuation. I get that this happens and all, and it probably would not be the first time, but it just kind of bummed me out because up until now I had a really great experience on WordPress and made some really cool connections with like-minded people. I reported him to WordPress but I still haven’t heard back from him so I’m guessing that blog is still out there. I guess there are always going to be those idiots out there and it annoys me that I’ll now have to think twice before posting a picture.

    • I am so sad that someone would do that, and I can’t believe this never came into my notifications list. I rarely scroll through the comments directly, but clearly I’m missing stuff. Anyway, Giorge, you are beautiful and have nothing whatever to be ashamed of. It’s him who should be ashamed of himself.

  40. When my 10 year old grandson found out that I had a photo-story blog, he asked me if he could do something with me for the website. Yes! What a wonderful idea!
    He took me outside and literally walked me through his story ideas, as I took the photos.
    Later that evening, I wrote it down and put it all together. The next day, he read the part of the king (himself), I read the part of the evil bushes, and his mom read the narrative parts.
    Before I left, he gave me a folded piece of paper and said: “I wrote a bonus poem that you can put after the story. It will make people laugh.”

    • I checked it out, and it’s delightful. Really enjoyed it. I like telling stories with my kids, who are near the ages of your Grandson Anonymous. My daughter’s always have princesses and ponies. My boys usually have boys saving the day. I’m sure they will like your grandson’s story. Cheers, Brenda
