Hello and welcome to the virtual home of Brenda Davis Harsham, award-winning Author and Children’s poet.

Together with her fantastic husband and three story-telling children, she enjoys the unpredictability of life in New England.

Her ever-growing Publications page keeps track of where her stories and poetry may be found in the wild — anthologies and journals and magazines, oh my!

Art Prints are Available at Society6

Occasionally, her busy schedule allows time for school or club visits. Puppets shows with audience participation are her specialty. But don’t ask her to read her poetry! She loves that WAY too much. Craft of Writing workshops are available, one-day or longer as negotiated.

Her fine art photography is available for purchase on the Society6 website, including an Abstracts in Nature series.

She is not soliciting manuscripts from children at this time, but a few are available in the By&4Kids group by clicking here.

  5. What good vibes this site has! I love the nature and sense of magic it shows. I love the wonder. Adults should never outgrow their sense of wonder. The world is too big for them to close their eyes to. The tiniest corners in the garden can reveal delightful surprises. You inspire me.

  11. Thank you for the visit and the like of my post “Full Frame”. Unfortunately, I don’t have any children who would read your stories, but being a kid at heart, I’ll will likely stop by now and again and read them myself.

  12. I saw in the Stonehenge and Grandpa story response that you mentioned Upper Michigan. I was born and raised to 18 in and around Bergland, in Ontonagon County. To what UP area did you refer?

    • My father’s family lived in Engadine, UP. My great-grandfather, John Parker Davis, had a dairy farm. My Aunt tells me that he used to send the milk to a factory that made it into cheese. The farm was sold, and my grandfather, Alfred Davis was superintendent of schools in Engadine, but eventually moved to Owasso so that my father, John Davis, and his sister, my Aunt Mary, could go to high school there. My grandfather and dad built a house in Engadine. We used to visit that house most summers. I have fond memories of the UP, and the very independent, highly creative people who lived there. I remember collecting old coke bottles from an out building, and hauling them down the general store for 5 cents each. I believe I earned enough money to buy gum and a pencil.

How are things going? We love seeing pics of your beautiful kiddos. Hope all is well.
