a few bobs of a daffodil’s head —
my spirits rise with
a spring in each step

Notes: Time for my yearly daffodil post — the days are longer and my spirits are lifting despite my long confinement. If daffodils put you in the mood for Wordsworth, I offer that, too, but here is some Milne, with my favorite title ever.
Daffodowndilly
by A.A. Milne
She wore her yellow sun-bonnet,
She wore her greenest gown;
She turned to the south wind
And curtsied up and down.
She turned to the sunlight
And shook her yellow head,
And whispered to her neighbour:
“Winter is dead.”

I love that I hit the same joyful daffodil mood every year, as evidenced by my blog. I never knew I had that pattern prior to blogging.

i love these, and have beautiful daffodils right outside of my front window, giving me a bit of sunny beauty each day, even in yesterday’s snow –

Oh how cheerful and fun this daffodil tribute was, Brenda. I liked both lovely poems and the vibrant photo too. Many thanks!

So sweet and yay, for the passing of winter, even thought we are getting snow again tonight.

More snow? We have early spring here. We’ve gotten nearly none this year.

We had a good winter too, it’s just that it has been staying until summer and we haven’t had a real spring in years. It didn’t snow last night but was 29 degrees when I got up this morning. We’re supposed to have snow tomorrow. It’s pretty and won’t stay but I’d rather be out in the yard, especially since we’ve been locked in the house for so long.

My parents got snow last week, too. The great lakes region can always be counted on for lots of snow, and my parents are in Rochester, NY.
