Nearly Happy Halloween. I need some seasonal posts, but I still have a ton of summer pictures in the queue. 🙂 LikeLiked by 1 person Reply Hey, summer pics are fine…in the middle of a cold snap! :0) LikeLike Reply Just did a post on Sath! When I was a kid in the hospital for knee surgery in the late 1960’s, the young women who helped the nurses wore red or pink and white striped uniforms, and they were called Candy Stripers. I wanted to fit that in the poem somewhere in memory of her, but the title was the most I could manage. So happy you picked up on it. LikeLiked by 1 person Reply I believe many a candy striper went on to become a nurse. I guess the equivalent is nursing assistant these days. LikeLiked by 1 person Reply It was a good name, but I remember controversy about boys wanting to do it… LikeLiked by 1 person Reply Didn’t know about the boy controversy. When I was having all my adolescent medical issues in the late 1960’s all the nurses were women. LikeLiked by 1 person Reply Yes, it used to be more divided. Still mostly women.
