so many thoughts
plentiful as lilac petals,
trumpeting ideas
sweet-smelling, unfinished,
blurry and chaotic

Notes: I haven’t had a good night’s sleep in weeks, and my thoughts reflect it. The last of my lilacs have opened, and the perfume is still coming in the window.
Happy Poetry Friday and thanks to Michelle Kogan for hosting. I had hacker trouble, and now I can’t leave comments on BlogSpot or hook into round ups, but I am still writing in my end of the world.

Yes! My lavender is about to bloom. In the meantime, my mint smells divine.

Lilacs take me back to the home of my childhood. A hedge of them bloomed outside the dining room and kitchen. That glorious perfume takes me back to those days. We would pick bouquets and take them to our grandmothers for mother’s day.
Thank you so much for triggering that memory with your poem.

Oh I love lilacs, I have a big blooming lilac bush in my backyard. You captured their essence and nature beautifully! Hope the sleep comes soon–and sorry your having posting problems.

Such a fresh interpretation! Is it reflective of your own sweet-smelling, chaotic thoughts?

It smells divine in my enclosed porch with lilacs blooming. The smugde on my table is the dust of lilacs.

Really enjoyed your words, here, Brenda, thanks for bringing us the sweet elegance of lilacs. I like the idea of each bud being a thought…very original.

Thanks, Jet. I was happy to have an inspiration. It’s harder now that I’m working full-time.

That is sad. I have them on three sides of the house, and they are impossible to miss. 🙂
