wind weaves
milkweed fluff and rain
into lace

Notes: My second writing class has wound down, and I’m working on a new story and a huge revision to a middle grade. My new job is also super busy. Time is more precious than diamonds. Happy Poetry Friday and thanks to Linda Baie at Teacher Dance for hosting!
Beautiful, picture and poem both.

I need to know about your new job! Hope all is well and you enjoyed our first sprinkling of snow. I got a bit more than you did!

Yes, we only had a few inches. The new job is busy and high pressure. Hard to fit the writing and blogging in these days. Have to get up with the dawn chorus.

Beautiful! I think I’ll go out and admire some milkweed lace.

lovely lacey haiku, isn’t beautiful how the milkweed pods open and scatter the seeds from strings of silk. Your schedule sounds like mine–too full. Here’s to some downtime. BTW are those milkweed plants from your yard, I still have some that I can send (sorry I’m so late with them).

My neighbor has good luck with milkweed, but it doesn’t seem to come up in my yard.

Inventive imagery, Brenda. I like your new Poetry Friday logo, too (Is it new or am I just noticing it now?). Congrats on keeping all the balls in the air!

I borrowed that from the PF community a year ago at least. It seemed like a good time of year to dust it off.

Nature is full of these moments of beauty, isn’t it? I’ve also learned to value time more than diamonds!

So much to be joyful about, if we only had the time to ponder it.

Hi Brenda! I’m grateful you spent some of your ‘diamonds’ sharing that precious poem and picture. Wow! Best wishes on all the projects!

Thanks, Linda. I’m sitting on some super great news, but I’m not sure how to share it yet. 🙂

ahhhhh, milkweed fluff. One of my favorites to play with as a kid. Woven or not!

I’m so happy a neighbor manages to grow some, as it never comes up in my yard.

I can’t decide if the picture looks Seussian (as in something from Dr. Seuss) or some plant from the Dagoba system.
