Sun shines so bright,
She bows her head and squints.
As the summer fades,
Her petals wilt a bit, but
She is still aflame with color.
Sunflower drowses and dreams
Of golden days past.

They are so huge. That bloom was bigger than my head. With the petals, I bet it was 18 inches across. 🙂

I do, as well. Across the street from where I work, there are a whole bunch of them. I have gone over there a few times to take a photo, but got chased by some bees. I like the little boogers, but am allergic:)

I’ve only been stung once, and it was not pleasant, but I was too close to the hive. Otherwise they leave me alone. Fortunately I’m not allergic. So many things I am allergic to, but not that.
