I was puzzled for a moment, wasn’t sure if it was a cucumber or a cactus plant!! 😀 Have you eaten it yet? It must be wonderful, so much more flavour than the shop bought ones!

Do you still really have cucumbers?! Mine were such a failure this year–well, we did get a number of gallons of garlic pickles–before the dreaded beetles came along–but it was ages ago.

I still have cucumber vines stretching to the heavens, long since disdaining the obelisk I use for them, and climbing the surrounding arbor vitae. They are still flowering, some new ones only and inch long, some gigantic! Literally, they are twice my height. They are awe inspiring. 🙂

No idea. Water them a lot maybe? Put fertilizer down in the spring? Give them something to grow onto? All three?

You have to climb the tree to get it! Maybe in Jack n the Beanstalk, it was a cucumber vine all along!!

Oh I love them so much! Yesterday my daughter realized pickles are cucumbers. She said yuck mom I hate cucumbers. Whatever right? Kids are so silly sometimes 🙂 I totally love them and love your garden produce:)

Cucs do have spines and they do not go easily. So true!

I usually brush them off before I harvest, but I can’t when it is so far above my head. Eek!! 🙂

It is literally 2 feet above my head, clinging to the arbor vitae. And there’s one higher, not quite as big. Some of the flowers are double my height, way up the vine. It’s intimidating with those spines. 🙂
