Winter
Spring
Summer
Fall
Note: This celebration of the seasons is inspired by Ailsa at Where’s My Backpack. She offered a fun quote by George Carlin: Think off-center. Achieving balance despite being off-center is one of my aims. Do you think I managed even though my subjects are off-center? My theme is in honor of the seasons because we are nearly in-between, moving here from spring to summer in a few days.
in-between
off-center
but in balance

Blow old North wind,
Your icy breath is a knife,
Storms have twinned,
Roads bisected by slushy ruts.
Sturdy New England folk
Might be down in the mouth;
Monotonous gray skies invoke
A temptation to head South.
Forty days to the solstice.
The sun is headed this way,
Eventual defeat to cold paralysis.
So we will wait it out, come what may.

Here is a delightful post from a new friend, Flannelberry. Hope you are enjoying the first longer day. 🙂 Warmly, Brenda
The Solstice Faerie has been, the treasure has been hunted. There is a fire in the stove and tea on top. I can see the first blush of false dawn (at 8:01 am) through the window. Stunning.
Ho ho ho! I’ve been to the North Pole, and when Santa heard that you’ve all been naughty and/or nice, he decided you needed some presents! You might prefer a rainbow loom, chocolates, plane tickets to Tahiti, diamonds or the new Beyonce CD, but I’m afraid all I can afford to fit through the internet wires are these little treats. Each and every one of you bloggers should take a present, if you want one, with my good wishes.
