Remembering in April

trembling
cherry petals in sunshine,
my mother’s warmth

Notes: Thanks to Michelle H. Barnes, and her quote by Auguste Rodin for inspiring this poem:

“The main thing is to be moved,
to love, to hope, to tremble, to live.”

Each April, as her birthday draws near, I feel an ache that is me missing her. Remembering love is like magic — it can’t be touched, only believed in.
