Winter at Last

From Cold Spring Park, Newton, Massachusetts

in uncovered ears,
ice-flakes tickle and tease
driven by bitter winds

Notes: According to the forecasters, the polar vortex split. Arctic air brings a long-awaited white winter to New England. Tree branches creak and snap. Even the most meagre bush bows its head to the heavy snow. Hope you’re all safe and warm.

  2. i do love the feeling of being safe and warm inside. and on my little trips to school or the park it feels invigorating. it always makes me worry about those who do not have a warm place to be.
