When the anesthesia mask is tightened,
I won’t think of scalpels.
I’ll remember the way wildflowers dance,
humming with honeybees.
A moment later, when my eyes open in recovery,
I won’t count the stitches.
I’ll remember how sunshine slants

Notes: A knee procedure is scheduled for tomorrow. (I’m not afraid. No way. Piece of cake.) Each time I have surgery, I always think the hard part is dreading it. (Until the anesthesia wears off.) 🙂 Hope you have a magical week.
