May your holidays
be warm by the fire,
full of light and cheer!
Notes: I’m not posting as much because my father-in-law passed away. He was a big teddy bear of a man. He’d been sick a long time with an incurable lung disease. He couldn’t breathe much at the end. His passing was peaceful but sad for those of us who will miss his humor, affection and warmth. I’ve also injured my knee, and every step is a misery, sitting is a torture, and sleeping well is impossible. I’ve started physical therapy and hope to improve soon. Despite it all, my day job just keeps getting busier. But I wanted to wish everyone a magical and delightful holiday season. Even if you don’t light a fire, hear the crackle and hiss, or watch the dancing flames, at least keep light and warmth in your heart.
I only today came back to read this. I hope your life is lightening up a little… losing a family member is so very hard. I will wish you many warm fires and fresh air in the spring. Looking forward to your return one day.

I’m starting to feel more like my old, eager-to-write and connect self. Maybe because I went to bed super early. 🙂 Happy Friday and Happy Holidays!
