when words dance and
flowers are like sunshine,
it must be spring

Notes: The flowering has started, the days are longer and my spirits are lifting. If daffodils put you in the mood for Wordsworth, I offer that, too. Happy Poetry Friday and thanks to Irene Latham, an embracer of Octopus Poetry, at Live Your Poem for hosting the round-up this week.

Daffodowndilly

by A.A. Milne

She wore her yellow sun-bonnet,
She wore her greenest gown;
She turned to the south wind
And curtsied up and down.
She turned to the sunlight
And shook her yellow head,
And whispered to her neighbour:
“Winter is dead.”

    • I have a link to it there. I love the way he isn’t just happy that such a field existed, but that he gets to remember it. That’s how I view so much of my life now. I’m happy to be able to remember all the good times.

  1. Such a lovely celebration of spring! I, too, feel my spirits rising, though 4 inches of snow on Monday did put a slight damper on things around here! Enjoying the light and the promise of warmer weather on the way–fingers crossed!
