reflecting
on pathways
and shadows

Notes: You never know when life will take you in a new direction. Sometimes it’s fun just to ponder all the pathways and where they could lead. Best of luck to you on your path.
Happy Poetry Friday and thanks to Laura Purdie Salas for hosting!
Love both the poem and the photo.

It’s in the children’s garden at Elm Bank, Wellesley. Have you been? My kids love it there.

Such a lovely photo to reflect upon-the shadows interplay with one another leading us on…

Playing is the important part. 🙂 That leads us to art, friends and joy.

I really needed this today, Brenda! I am at a point in my career where I must decide on where the different paths will lead. Your photo, poems, and notes make me excited to see where the path I choose may lead. Thanks for sharing!

I was at a decision point, too, Keisha. One of the best things I realized is that paths can link up down the road. Choosing one doesn’t have to mean giving up the other. I hope your choice leads you to happy places.

Nice alternate! You can take my photo and marry it to your poem on your site if you want.

Intriguing image Brenda, it reminds me of a spider moving quickly. I love the “shadows” in the image and your haiku, and choice of paths, thanks!

Spiders are fascinating, aren’t they? This shadow does have a lot of legs.

Thanks for stopping by, Linda. They are a thing, or a not-thing, or an in-between-thing that is so elusive. A good subject for poetry that is the thing that captures the elusive so well.

I am always looking and often admiring the shadows, Brenda, but you’ve given me a new way to observe, more pathways! Thanks!

We aren’t getting much snow, so it’s hard to write about winter when all my photos look like fall. 🙂

I was having to make a major decision, willy-nilly, stay or go, and it was all I could think about. I realize we are all faced with such decisions so often. Thank you for sharing your wonderful poetry, too, Irene.

Gorgeous photo! Hope you’re enjoying your pathway. Lately I’ve been reflecting on how to write short poems…can you suggest an anthology of short poems that you find inspiring? I could use some inspiration.

I’ve been working on it, too. They are getting easier and deeper, if that makes sense. As for an anthology, there was that bedtime one that I seem to have misplaced. I tried to google the title but it wouldn’t come up for me, and it’s too early to turn on the light and wake my hubby. Have fun with the journey, no matter the path! 🙂

Thanks for trying! I found an anthology this morning called “Succinct” that I’m going to check out 🙂
