Notes: This is a visual haiku, or a picture that suggests something that is missing. Can you identify something missing? For me, it was knowing who put the apple there.
I haven’t put up any visual haiku in a while, but here are a tour of the seasons from winter, autumn, summer and spring.
Happy Poetry Friday! G’day and thanks to fabulous Aussie kidslit writer Kathryn Apel for hosting!

LOOKS LIKE TWO DIFFERENT FUNGI SURROUND THE APPLE. EACH ORGANISM, THEN, IS A LINE IN THE HAIKU?

I suppose so. I hadn’t thought of it that way. 🙂

Robin Hood left it there for target practice. He went back to get his bow and arrows 🤣

I like that one! As long as it wasn’t William Tell. 🙂

It’s an interesting way of looking at photographs. What’s there and what’s not there…. 🙂

Whoever is going to come and eat the apple is missing–it’s waiting for someone, some critter, or maybe a cup of tea is going to join the apple first–fun haiku Brenda, thanks!

Visual haiku, whaddayaknow! The fungus looks very plate-like. There’s something “be our guest” about it. Thanks for teaching me something new today!

An intriguing idea… (Btw, methinks you will like today’s Insta-Poem, too. #therebeflowers #haiku)

I searched on Twitter for #therebeflowers but I couldn’t find it. I didn’t see anything under #haiku either. I suppose it must be insta-gram, but I don’t get on there much.

Oh. Sorry. No – I didn’t use those tags on insta. Sometimes I just talk in hashtag asides – to my son’s frustration!!🤭 The direct link is here; https://www.instagram.com/p/BsfbAI1lu9d/ (Appropriate hashtag to search is #MoPoetry2019.😉)

What an intriguing idea–I’d never heard of a visual haiku! I’ll have to check out your others when I can do so in a leisurely fashion. Thanks for sharing!

I was very disappointed when I realized someone had thought of it before me. Made me think there are no truly new ideas in the world… 🙂

An intriguing visual haiku. I feel there should be a bite missing out of the apple. 😉

LOL You’re right! Perhaps it was turned to hide the bite.

I wonder about any small creatures that may have hidden when the apple was placed, ready to pounce on that apple. Interesting, Brenda.

Another wonderful one. 🙂 A whole haiku there, too.

i think it was left as a gift for the mushroom fairies. perhaps by a kindly visitor to the woods.

Perhaps the mushroom fairies needed a vacation home.

Too true. Or maybe the ladder up is missing…
