zinnias in
blurry autumn drizzle,
shine

Notes: Happy Thanksgiving! We’ve had a rainy fall, but I’m giving thanks for it, this cold Thanksgiving. I’m also giving thanks for Poetry Friday and to Irene Latham at Live Your Poem for hosting it! What are you giving thanks for?
What a gorgeous photo and poem. I’m thankful for the time to write and read poetry.

That is in short supply for me these days. How is retirement treating you?

Hope you’ve been having a joyful holiday! Have you thought about putting the words directly onto the photo? This one seems like they could “shine” together. 🙂

I am far too lazy to combine the word and photos unless prodded by Carol. 🙂

That photograph– wow, wow, wow, wow, wow! The lovely color is such a contrast to the drizzle!

Doesn’t it make rain look like jewels? The air was so still, not a drop fell.

Hope you had as beautiful a Thanksgiving as the picture of your flower. Flowers on cold days are doubly appreciated because they exist even though the bugs have gone away!

Yes, indeed. I am thankful the bugs are gone. Even the winter moths aren’t annoying us.

Wow, still blooms in that rainy drizzle, Brenda. Beautiful! Our blooms are all gone, even most of the leaves, so glad to be reminded of your zinnia ‘shine’!

I’m more thankful for the flowers than the food, as I get older.

I am thankful for your poem and pic of rainfreckled zinnias! Thank you! It has been a rainy fall here, too, and I am thankful for the sun peeking out yesterday. xo

I am thankful for zinnias! They add such a happy splash of color in the garden, they are hardy and long-lived, and they connect me back to the gardens of my childhood. Thanks for this gorgeous picture and poem pair.

I do love zinnias. I wish I had the gift of being able to bring them inside to winter over and plant them out in the spring. Sadly, mine always perish indoors or out. But that means I plant new colors each time.

Thanks, Donna. Especially when you have glasses, they get so blurry. 🙂

Lovely poem, especially “Only your single glance and a wink”. Sadly, I couldn’t leave a comment on your site. Sorry.
