autumn’s cool
dwindling days
draw me outside

Notes: Yesterday, I attended a wonderful picture book writer’s conference yesterday at the Writer’s Loft. If you’re in New England, it’s a great place to meet other word-obsessed story lovers. Today I have so many ideas, I’m like an overfull balloon about to pop. I hope the morning brings me time to write because tomorrow I start my new full-time job, and writing time is going to become rarer than diamonds. Have a magical day!
I do love this image and poem combination, Brenda. It is so full of joy.

Nature’s invitation is generous and especially compelling during the transition between seasons, isn’t it? I’m still waiting for consistent fall temperatures here–I think it was 80˚ F earlier this week. Yikes! Your retreat sounds inspiring and I’m looking forward to checking out the link you shared. Best of luck with your new job!

Cool air is coming in my window, bringing that tinge of autumn dampness. Such a delight after near summer weather of the last few days.

Enjoy your first day, Brenda… I know it’s always a little daunting starting a new ‘anything’… But, it can also be exceedingly wonderful, too… 🙂

🙂 It will be odd starting when my hubby has a holiday, my kids are home, and my boss is out of town.

Sunflowers exert a special kind of attraction. They also bloom the longest into the fall. Great Photo, Brenda!

I’m in a simple frame of mind, I guess. 🙂 Wishing to be outdoors, but on my computer…. hmmm.

I was sad to see the damage from the hurricane and flooding. I hope you and those you love are all well.

thank you! Yes, many suffering a lot of flood damage east of Raleigh all the way to the coast. My family is in the Raleigh area, and some do live “down East” but were a little north and not in a severely flood prone area– so we are OK…it will be a year or two before our friends and neighbors really start recovering though, so thoughts and prayers are always appreciated!

I lived in Carrboro for a couple years, and I remember how flat it was. And how solid the red soil was.
