“Bend like the grass
that you do not break.”

Blogging Tip: Keep posts short. Microfiction, micropoetry, quotes and tweets are popular for that very reason. They’re short. Break longer ideas into a series of shorter posts. The practice of doing this will improve your writing as you edit the unnecessary. It pleases readers, who prefer shorter posts. You can put links on teasers. For example:

Writing Tip: Similar advice: say your idea with as few words as possible. Choose the best words and put them in the best order.

Notes: This is the first of a new series of posts: blogging tips. With over 8,000 followers (none purchased), nearly 175,000 page views and visits from 159 countries, I thought I’d share the things I’ve learned along the way for those just starting out. Thanks to the many people who’ve helped me along the way by suggestion and example.
Micropoetry has been my salvation. Longer poetry is too overwhelming and daunting an undertaking for me. It’s been my most successful form of therapy… no conversation, no power imbalance, cost efficient and no meeting anyone’s expectations but my own.

Some problems are best solved bit by bit, like a sculptor carves marble, chisel strike by chisel strike. I’m glad you’ve found a chisel and learned its power.

I do like the shorter post and it’s something I’m trying to adopt in on my own blog. I’ve learned that it’s easier to read and that you can usually remember more when reading shorter tibits of information. Thanks for posting. Love your blog, by the way. I love the artsy and cozy feel I get whenever I visit (which is quite often!).

If you’d like a good read that’s short just like you’re suggesting, look up Six Word Stories. Writers only put down six words that are meant to impact you in some way. It’s wonderful!

Love the suggestion. Bloggers have many posts to read from fellow bloggers. Then, when you think of work, family, being creative, short posts make life easier.
As for the writing aspect, short and concise makes for good writing.
