Notes: Happy Nearly New Year! Stay warm! (Unless you’re in the tropics, in which case, don’t brag, as the rest of us shiver and hunker indoors.) The cold snap gave my children ample opportunity to destroy me in Munchkin Zombie Deluxe. (Yum! Brains!) 🙂 I’m also reading Cold Comfort Farm by Stella Gibbons, and it’s a comic delight. In the book, the farm has this enchanting address: “Judith Starkadder, Cold Comfort Farm, Howling, SUSSEX.” Hilarious. I haven’t finished my Christmas chocolates yet. I hope whatever you’re doing, you’re enjoying it quite as much as I am.

Oooh! I wish I could click my heals and be there for that sunset. It’s so dreary and damp here on the ridge. I have a touch of cabin fever! I will make a New Year’s wish for warmer days to come. Wishing you a Happy New Year, Brenda!

Near the 28 ° N Latitude, “sorbet skies” are so frequent that when I see a beautiful picture it reminds me to actually see the sunset or sunrise while sitting or standing until the colors dissipate.

A half an hour of watching the sunset probably lengthens your life span. Like singing joyfully. We need to do more things that bring us peace and joy. Science is proving that. Happy New Year!

I’m enjoying my holiday. February starts to feel like a slog after so many Februaries. I find I’m not looking forward to it. But I hope the New Year surprises me by being better than I expect. Happy New Year!

Perfect haiku, Brenda–just one word to start, all specific and broad, carries the atmosphere strongly. My son keeps telling me that Munchkin is maybe too complicated for my aging brain but you give me hope. Wishing you all good things in 2018!

Gorgeous photo! I know I should take advantage of the frigidness outside by getting some indoor projects tended to. I keep telling myself that, but daydreaming about blue skies and warm sunshine and flowers is more fun.

I see you’re braving the cold. Your sorbet sky is warming the beach but I can only imagine what I would find at the Atlantic Ocean beaches around here. I am not sure if the Polar Bear Plunge is really going to happen this new year. Happy New Year, Brenda.

Brrrrrrr…Its still chilly as all anything here in Raincity, Canada, but the recent cold snap you guys have been having in the States has been a good reminder for me not to complain too much, because it could always be colder! 😉
