autumn skies
above a golden road,
longing

Notes: I spent the day worrying I have appendicitis, only to find out that I have a virus with the exact same symptoms. Apparently lots of people are suffering, like me. Yay for not needing surgery! Boo for losing a whole day’s writing. Uck for how awful I feel.
Happy Poetry Friday and thanks to Diane Mayr at Random Noodling for hosting!
Beautiful photo. I hope you get better soon.

A dire consequence indeed. 🙂 I relapsed, but I hope to get enough rest soon.

Linda, I am so sorry that you are ill. Your image and poem are wonderful and guess what: If you send me the grouping, I will slip it into Autumn Ablaze. It is a perfect combo.

Thanks, Carol. Still feeling run-down and lackluster. That is a nice compliment for my last love note to autumn.

Thank you! I had good medicine today. My son’s robotics team did well at states, and we all loved the new Star Wars movie. Well, some of us loved picking it apart and finding certain elements weren’t well developed. I think I may have spawned a tribe of storytellers. 🙂

Anytime, Kat. That golden road was at Cape Cod, West Dennis Beach. So beautiful. I bet Australia has beautiful beaches, too.

Yep! There is just something extra special about sand, salt and water. And sunsets. (I’m not so sure that the magic is there at sunrise, though. 😉 )

LOL Sunrises have a different magic, more about possibility and less about longing. 🙂

Thanks, Linda. The beach is so tranquil in the autumn, and the beach so untrammeled.

Feel better soon! So glad it’s only a virus. They at least go away on their own. The mucinex slime ball ran over me with a Mack truck this week. No abdominal pain, just can’t stop coughing. Let’s feel better!

I hate those coughs that won’t go away. My hubby had one last month. Poor man. I hope yours goes away soon.

Thanks, Jama. Now I have to see if I have enough energy for one more batch of cookies and paella. Can I get through that much kitchen work? LOL We’ll see.

Beautiful haiku, Brenda! Glad you didn’t need surgery. The stomach flu is awful. That went around our house last week (incl. a trip to the hospital.)

Ugh! I managed to do all of mine outpatient, but it still took hours and hours to rule out the bad stuff. I hope you are all well.

Poor Brenda! The words are all in hiding and will out themselves on a better day.
There are weird viruses going around here, too, in NH, plus conjunctivitis! So, enjoy your time indoors, minus the pains, of course.

Eeek! Red eye. I remember one holiday season that we all had viral red eye. We had to cancel everything and hide out inside. It had its fun parts, but ugh!

Yes, wicked virus that makes you worried enough to drink contrast. Yuck! As if a stomach bug isn’t bad enough without a 6 hour trip to the doctor.

Hi Brenda, hope you are feeling better. Sometimes we need a mental health day-to cool out. Gorgeous pic and haiku. I succumbed to my family’s cold and slept the last few hours-gearing up for tomorrow. Be well!

Thanks Brenda, I’m working on it, though it’s hard for me to slow down and get better–Yesterday I slept in the evening from 7-10– got up had dinner and slept like a baby through the night. Sending well wishes to you too xo.
