tiny hydrangea flowers
hide among raspberry leaves,
like autumn-hued beacons
Copyright 2017 Brenda Davis Harsham
Notes: I wonder at the biological purpose of having these colorful false-petals hiding the tiny blooms. Are they billboards for bees or do they protect the blooms from being devoured by aphids? I like to wonder about things. Enjoy the new week, in all its magical mystery.

You are always such a fun wealth of info! I’m running out of room for the plants and flowers I want next year. I have a worthless underperforming blueberry bush. Maybe it needs a raspberry bush girlfriend….🤔

I have a worthless, underperforming blueberry bush, too. My 4th, all of them useless. Sigh.

Oh, it’s not just me then! I kinda feel better. It’s 2 years old and just sits there. I fertilize, water, etc, and it grows, but it produces nothing. It’s really frustrating.

Yep. I have 4 twigs. Thought it was just me.

They told me that my particular variety was self pollinating and didn’t need a “companion” but I’m wondering if in fact if it does need another one to produce berries? Lol, they are supposed to be good for you, not twiggy money pits, right?

Beats me. I like things that flourish where planted. It’s the American way. 🙂

Bougainvillea is the same, I think. Such bright petal like leaves.

She would love you writing a poem for it, too. Please do! As for wearing it, you’ll have to talk to my daughter. LOL
