Notes: Sensations from the week: cold snaps, jacket zippers snugged to my chin, the dusty burn of radiators turned on for the first time, Halloween wrappers in every garbage bin, drinking tea from my thermos instead of ice water, putting away tomato cages and flower pots, and fingers and back aching from tap-tap-tapping on my laptop. Hi Kat, Yes, NaNoWriMo is giving me deadline pressure, which always helps me stay structured and disciplined. Writing every day isn’t a problem, I do that. I just need to work on my books more and my blog less. I’m having a great time with my new project. I hope your writing is going well. And your family is well, too.

Sometimes blogs and things can become a distraction – or absorb a lot of creative time. I find it a tricky balance to juggle. Glad you’re loving your new project. 🙂 Not too much writing happening here at the moment – but lots of important family moments to treasure. #noregrets

I know what you mean. It’s a trade-off, a constant balancing and shifting of priorities. I like having something of my own, though.

I went on a self imposed sabbatical from writing. It didn’t last long . . not that I’m complaining.

I’ve been writing my whole life, just not always the same kinds of writing. I still have the blank page fear, but I’ve learned ways around it. 🙂

You’re resilient.
I have seldom suffered from that dreaded writers block. Going on sabbaticals from writing actually ramps up my creative juices upon returning. I once knew a pianist who told me that when she would stop playing and then go back, she felt refreshed. It’s sorta like that.

Oh, to be in the glow of that flower….inside the delicate shell. Have to wait all winter. Thank goodness for lots to read.

Dusting is the cure. I am always too busy with other things. And then too cold to wait to turn them on. Every year.
And you have the glow of that flower in you, Linda. Every silken particle, is at your fingertips, whenever you call it up.
