oh to be a silver birch
warm in summer sun

Thanks, Jonathan. I’m pushing hard this month to write a new book. Very exciting, but not a lot of time for blogging. I hope your poetry is still making you happy.

I can send you some sunshine if you like. I actually overheated yesterday, helping my children move house on a 37 degree C day. (about 100 F). Love the haiku, love your summary, good luck with the rest of NANO

Whew! Take care. Overheating is dangerous. Thanks for your good wishes.

Not sure which I enjoyed more – the loveliness of the poem or the “update” on the NANOWRIMO writing – ha! A fun balance, actually. Good luck with the latter!

Thanks. So far, I’m ahead on my goal, and winging my way to a complete novel. Such excitement. 🙂

I can feel the warm sun on my back despite the fact that winter cold has slapped me across the face! Keep warm. Perhaps we should think about a face-to-face after the holidays, when the loooong winter depression sets in?

Yes, I have so much action going into my book, I need some silence on my blog.

I like your point of view. 😉 I’m going to think about the sun and the wild places a little longer. Snow will cage me sooner or later. But preferably later.

i love the textures in this one – the puffy, soft clouds, the bark, the grasses…

Lovely. We don’t actually have hills and the birches don’t do well in our winters but I agree and love the poem.

Thanks, Gigi. I was surprised to see these birches. I would have thought they were too exposed there to do well. But I thought they were beautiful.
