Ouch, watch my leaves!
You’re stepping on my stem!
Your perfume is too strong!
Quit shoving!
Who put you in charge?
Your buds are in my face!
Has anyone seen my bee?
I’m missing my bee, too!
Will you all be still?
Can’t we all get along?
No!
Why should we?
Huh! It’s her fault!
That’s right.
The gardener did this.

Notes: Do you ever feel like your efforts have the exact opposite effect than you intend? Helping others is a perilous business. Are one’s good intentions a defense? Or the nail in the coffin of blame? Sometimes it’s better for the gardener to leave the clippers on the shelf. Have a magical day!
Aww, yes I am underappreciated at times, too. Family takes us hard working Mom’s (and Nana’s) for granted. I would be “on strike” once in awhile. . .
Beautiful flowers! Your garden has such beauty and lovely results.

Women all over the world work long hours for their families. I do think we are appreciated, though.

Ha! Brenda — this is such a great example of a non-human POV poem. Isn’t it fun to imagine what animals and plants might be thinking?

Thanks, Laura. Yes, I was quite surprised to realize what the flowers were thinking. 🙂

The problem is that no one actually knows what anyone else needs…flowers are the same. Picture is gorgeous and love the poem. Better to smile and let people help themselves. LOL

Yes, I kind of regret helping now. Oh well. It can’t be undone now. 🙂

are we helping people or listening to flowers complain? Or is one an analogy for the other? Good dramatization…oh great gardening creative muse of mine! 🙂

Thanks, Jonathan. It was an analogy for unintended consequences. XOXO

Just wondering….did I mess up? That’s okay–tell your flowers that they COULD be replaced…by hardy mums and ornamental cabbage!!! 🙂

That’s right. A stern talking to. That is what those flowers need. 🙂

To “stem” their complaining attitudes? AHA! 🙂
