Moon Touched

IMG_6096

A poet,
dismissed from Heaven,
trees truth

and climbs
to embrace its light.
But falls into the past.

Sips moonlight
with Li Po
in the world river.

The silent, silvery flux
reveals goddesses of peace
birthing heavenly fish.

Notes: Sylvia Plath lodged “on the pitched reefs of nightmare” in her poem, Lorelei, yet before the end, she also glimpsed “great goddesses of peace” in the “flux of silver.” Perhaps she had read of Li Po, who was said to have drowned trying to embrace the moon in a river.

  1. Nicely expressed and we all were enchanted by the Full Pink Moon in April, Brenda! I am at library ostensibly to get rid of emails but saw this and could not resist.
    13,500 emails and “be gone!”
Hope you had a lovely Easter with lots of fun, treats and games abounding! hugs xoxo

    • 13,500 emails! I turned off my email notifications for everything, because I got hundreds every day, and I couldn’t keep up. That’s how I miss so much. But what else can I do? We did have a lovely Easter, as we always do, thanks to some neighbors we love. 🙂 XOXO
