May your inner light shine on the longest day,
Reflecting back the light of the universe.
If Shakespeare is your cup of tea, here’s a fairy poem on Midsummer from him. I also offer a midsummer fairy tale set in Ireland, called Midsummer Stew, a tale of fairy retribution and redemption and of the interconnectedness of us all.
Blessings, Brenda
Note: Speaking of the light shining, I’m reading Daring Greatly by Brené Brown, a wonderful book that may change my life for the better, if I let it. A taste of it is available on her wonderful TED talk:

Midsummer is the most important holiday each year for us in Sweden.

I didn’t know that. Here it passes, mostly unremarked, with much of the South already in high summer.

You are right, Bren… I had completely forgotten that the first day of summer is the longest one…. For us, winter has just arrived in the Southern Hemisphere… I hope you have a great, poetic summer ahead, my friend… sending love. Aquileana 😀

I know your inner light shines all the time!! 🙂 I love what Brene Brown has to say, I’ve seen just about all of her talks on You Tube! Her quotes are very popular too. Even for younger people on Tumblr, they love her quotes!
I’m wondering what those leaves are? I took a picture of some of those (or maybe it was a similar looking tree) in my aunts garden, they came out terrible! Your picture has more depth and colour and really shows their shine. 🙂

The tree is a Japanese Maple. I think it’s a miniature variety of some sort.

I did wonder if it might be a maple of some kind. Not sure my aunts tree was a maple, I don’t think they grow well in the English climate, probably another tree with similar shape and colour leaves. But it’s got me curious now, I shall have to check that out! 🙂

It needs a lot of sun. 🙂 I would think if it would grow here, it would grow there.

It’s a great one. 😀 In her book she says that she regretted being so honest in her TED talk, which is the ultimate irony given her subject matter.
