Glimpses of green
newly seen,
make my heart sing,
ah, spring.
Purple, yellow, red,
each bright head,
greeting songbirds
without words.

Notes: This is my Poetry Friday ditty of the day. Thanks Buffy Silverman for hosting! Thanks also to Jama, on whose post I won a FREE BOOK! Woo-hoo! Here a tiny taste of my huge feast:
everywhere is chirping
and now there is purple

Lovely all around, Brenda. Wishing you a nice spring week. (and did you see my ‘poem’ about the second ones?)

Thanks for the pointer. It’s too easy to miss things in the welter of posts and the minutia of life.

We’ve had some beautiful flowers, and now it’s snowing. I think they’ll pull through, but it’s time for rain instead! I love that “greeting songbirds/without words”, Brenda!

We’ve got flowers but no bees, yet. It feels unnatural to have flowers without bees.

My purple flox is just beginning to flower–not quite ready to greet songbirds!

I took this photo this morning on a neighbor’s walkway. The birds were singing. I do love to write about spring.
