Moon jellies drift,
pulsing and aglow,
in between
water and air.
A ballet of stingers
orbits the solitary
reaches of the great
oceans.
Do they call the moon
their father?
Or search for its reflection
on churning waves?
Did the moon
create them,
adding its spark of
divine?

Note: I found these beautiful Moon jelly fish (Aurelia aurita) at the Virginia Aquarium and Marine Science Center. This poem is for NaPoWriMo. Have a magical week!
Warmly, Brenda
I love your wonderings on Jelly fish, I wonder about them too, they’re such peculiar delicate creatures. Love your image too, wonderfully blue! 🙂

Oh they are so beautiful… they even exist in Sweden, but I do not think they sting.

Their sting is very mild, unlike the sea nettle. Thanks for stopping by.

A splendid poem about a very sneaky subject that used to terrify us when we came across them in the water as their sting is nasty.

I’ve been stung more than once by more than one species. It hurts!
